Professor extraordinaire Marshall Gilkes is back on the Hip-BoneU campus! Hip-Bone Music is thrilled to welcome Marshall back to our series to discuss one of the most important aspects of brass playing and one that has made him one of the all-time great trombonists. Marshall generously shares his insightful and enlightening approach on how to develop a solid, reliable upper register. A two-time Grammy nominee, Marshall is a member of the Maria Schneider Orchestra and is the lead trombonist of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. He recently released his 6th album as a solo artist entitled Waiting To Continue and is currently on faculty at the Manhattan School of Music. This video lesson is a must for all brass players. Enjoy!
