Bob McChesney

I saw the Tijuana Brass TV specials and thought the trombone player was really cool. He was in the background and then he would jump out and play a solo. I thought that would fit my personality.

The word virtuoso tends to be used quite liberally in this day and age. On occasion, the recipient of this high praise is actually worthy of the moniker. Such is the case with our artist of the month for December, the great Bob McChesney. Hip-BoneMusic is proud to wrap up our 2013 bone2pick series by sitting down with one of the true virtuosos of the trombone. Bob touches on a wide range of topics including his early years growing up in Maryland, getting a business degree from SUNY Fredonia, the Paul Anka years, his extraordinary ability to play fast, his phenomenal rendition of the Carnival of Venice, what it’s like to live and work in LA and what the future holds for himself and the music business in general. Cap off your bone2pick year with some inspiring and energizing words from one of the all-time greats. Happy Holidays and a very prosperous 2014 from all of us here at Hip-Bone Music.
