David Finck

Dizzy once told me he liked the way I played. . . I said could you write that down?!

Bone2pick proudly closes out our year with a fantastic sit down featuring one of the world’s finest bass players, the great David Finck. David has performed and recorded with everyone imaginable during his four decades as one of New York’s most in-demand bass players. Among the impressive list of luminaries are Dizzy Gillespie, George Michael, Ivan Lins, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Andre Previn, Herbie Hancock, Natalie Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Aretha Franklin and Tony Bennett, to name just a few. Hailing from Philadelphia, David graduated from the famed Cheltenham H.S. He followed that with a degree from the Eastman School of Music and a year on the road with the Woody Herman band before landing in New York. In recent years, he has expanded his skill sets to include work as a producer, composer and arranger. His latest release as a solo artist, Bassic Instinct, has garnered rave reviews and significant airplay at jazz radio.
